Buena Vista Lagoon sewage spill clean up.

Crews worked yesterday to install a barrier to seal off the Buena Vista Lagoon from a broken sewer main. More than 4million gallons have spewed into the lagoon along the Carlsbad-Oceanside border.

Plans are to build a cofferdam around the broken pipe. Once the temporary shoring is in place, the water will be drained in order to make the pipe accessible for repairs to begin.
